How to make a donation

Thanks for choosing to support a TeamSnap Fundraiser, powered by Accelerist. You’re helping make youth sports more accessible to kids – and that’s awesome! When donating to a TeamSnap fundraiser, the minimum donation amount is $1, and there is no maximum donation.

To make a donation, you don’t need to sign up for a TeamSnap or Accelerist account.

To donate, just follow these steps:

  1. Find the correct fundraiser and select “Donate”
  2. Choose from one of the pre-loaded donation options, or enter a custom amount you’d like to donate
  3. You can also elect to cover transaction fees and share your information with the Team for recognition purposes
  4. Choose from one of two payment methods:
    • PayPal
    • Credit/Debit Card
      • Visa
      • Mastercard
      • American Express
      • Discover
    • Payment options may vary by country. All currencies will be available and will automatically revert to the geographic location of the donor.
  5. Confirm donation by clicking “Pay Now”. You’ll be sent a confirmation receipt through the email you provided.

Now that you’ve made your donation, you’ll be able to share the fundraiser with your network.

To share a fundraiser, just choose one of the share options – either email, SMS or social network.

Donation troubleshooting

Please only use your own card and email address to make a donation. Do not use someone else’s card or donate on their behalf. For payment information, please enter your name exactly as it is shown on the card.

If you’re receiving an error message or your donation isn’t processing, please try the following:

  • Double-check the information and spelling you entered matches the card or the PayPal account you’re using.
  • Clear your internet’s history by clearing cache and cookies, using a private browser, or trying a different device.
  • Use a different payment method, or contact your bank to ensure there are sufficient funds and the bank isn’t blocking the transaction.

Multiple donation attempts within a short amount of time may result in the donation failing for your protection. If you’ve tried all of the above steps and still can’t complete the donation, it’s best to wait 24 hours and then try making your donation again. If you’re still having trouble, you can click the “help” button to contact the TeamSnap Fundraising team.

Donor covered fees

TeamSnap Fundraising, powered by Accelerist, does have few transaction fees that help us operate safely and securely:

  • We use PayPal to process and facilitate all donations through a PayPal account or Credit or Debit card. Their fees associated with payment processing including 3.49% + $.49.
  • Accelerist also charges a 3% platform fee to host and support all fundraisers.

All fees are deducted automatically from donations. The Team owner or manager who is claiming funds will receive all funds donated minus these transaction fees.

Refunds

TeamSnap Fundraising, powered by Accelerist, does not issue refunds. If you feel like you have made a donation by mistake, or would like to request a refund, please reach out to the Team you donated to directly.

View donations

You can view a tally of all donations made to a Fundraiser by navigating to the Fundraiser’s page. An aggregate view of donations will be represented by a thermometer against the Team’s goal for the campaign.

In future releases, the team will be able to view a roster of donors (if they chose to share their information).

Tax deductions for donors

You will receive a donation confirmation and receipt from Accelerist, Teamsnap Fundraising’s partner. Donations made to a Teamsnap Fundraiser, powered by Accelerist are generally considered to be personal gifts and aren’t guaranteed to be tax-deductible. However, we do recommend you always check with a tax professional to be sure.

Only donations made to registered 501c3 charities are guaranteed to be tax-deductible in the US, the UK, Canada, Ireland, and Australia. If you made a donation and aren’t sure whether it was to a team who is a registered 501c3 or a company, please check with the team directly to assess their status.
